Mission Statement: SUCCESS AT THE BREAST was created to provide support and encouragement for moms dedicated to offering their infants optimal feeding. I believe that mothers may have the most fulfilling relationship with their infant when they
are educated and supported. Our goal is to offer that needed support.
The gift of breast milk is priceless and the perfect nutrition for your newborn.
SUCCESS AT THE BREAST is privately owned and committed to encouraging and
strengthening the mother-baby bond.
Offering private breastfeeding classes, one-
on-one consultation in the hospital or home,
phone support, and the benefit of 18 years
of clinical experience. I am here to assist you.
Many breastfeeding difficulties may be
corrected in one or two home visits. Others
may require more attention. IBCLC's or International Board Certified Lactation
Consultants have been rigorously trained
and board certified to assist breastfeeding moms to success.
Breastfeeding Advocate for 33 Years Passionate Lactation Consultant
Promoting the Benefits of Breastfeeding for Both Mother and Baby.
Lisa is a mother of four and grandmother of three who were all breastfed. She is a Registered Nurse who practiced in the NICU for over 25 years.
Lisa became a Lactation Counselor in 1993 and began implementing breast friendly changes in her Maternal Child unit, teaching breastfeeding classes, and supporting breastfeeding in the workplace.
She has recently completed her International Board Certification for Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) and is eager to move her practice to the community from the hospital setting.
With years of experience as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse , Lisa has worked with hundreds of mothers and babies in challenging feeding situations. The last 25 years have allowed Lisa to see firsthand the challenges as breastfeeding moms.
Lack of support and knowledge often jeopardize a new mom's success. Hospital policies and interventions can also interrupt the progress of breastfeeding. Too many moms find themselves overwhelmed with conflicting information and are encouraged to supplement feed when they get home and quickly turn to artificial feeding.
Lisa desires to help you overcome any obstacles and assist you to breastfeeding success.

Not all nursing situations are straightforward -- some moms have to deal with breastfeeding preemies or babies with special needs, nursing while working full time, or breastfeeding with an illness like diabetes or cancer.
Some want to know how breast implants or nipple piercings can affect nursing. Adopting moms may want to attempt to lactate.
Special consultations may be scheduled as needed.
A consultation in your home or in the hospital setting requires about 1.5 - 2 hours of your time.
It includes a complete history, assessment of breasts, nipples, latch, and infant's mouth. This assessment is gentle but imperative to achieve optimum success and care.
Observiation of a complete feeding is optimal.
Weight check with digital baby scale
Assessment of infant feeding record
A personalized care plan for both mom and baby's health care provider if desired
*** Follow-up assistance by phone, text, or email is included until the initial issues have been resolved. You will receive caring and compassionate support in helping meet your breastfeeding goals.***
I specialize in providing hands on help to moms having breastfeeding difficulties through home visits. I prefer home consults so that I can see mom and baby where feedings occur and moms are most comfortable.
Follow-up consultations usually last 45 minutes - 1 hour and include re-assessment of the breastfeeding process, weight check, observation, reveiw of feeding record, discussion, and questions.
* ** Many breastfeeding issues are resolved with just one consultation. However, complex feeding issues may require more hands-on and follow-up care.***
***Additional fees will apply for travel more than 25 miles each way :
26-35 miles - $10
36-45 miles - $ 20
Greater than 45 miles - $ 30
